Cheng Guoqiang
Distinguished Professor, Renmin University of China; President of the Institute of National Food Security Strategy

Cheng Guoqiang is a Distinguished Professor and "Outstanding Scholar” of the School of Agriculture and Rural Development at Renmin University. He is also President of the Institute of National Food Security Strategy and Vice President of Chinese Association of Agricultural Economics. Professor Cheng concurrently serves as a consultant to the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, as well as to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on World Trade Organization notifications. He participated in the negotiations on China's accession to the World Trade Organization as head of the Chinese agricultural negotiation group. Professor Cheng is a native of Xiantao, Hubei Province, and holds a PhD in agricultural economics. His research fields focus on agricultural and rural economic theory and policy, food economy, international agricultural trade and policy, government management, as well as economic and social system reform.
